In fact, the solution that I assumed would be no 1 actually came in at Number 3!

I was pretty sad that Shih Tzus only weighed in at Number 41 as I even have a stunning Shih Tzu called Socks – but my other dog Freddie who may be a mixed breed did far better within the results and has made it into the highest 20!

1) Staffordshire Bull Terrier (Staffie)
So here we are… the highest dog breed for 2019 is…. The Staffordshire bull terrier!
Also referred to as staffies, this breed may be a powerful medium-sized dog with shot coats and powerful muscles.
They were originally bred to require part in blood sports, which reputation, unfortunately, stays with them to the present day as they’re often used as ‘status symbol’ dogs. due to this, they’re sadly one among the foremost commonly found breeds of dogs in rescue centres.
However, staffies also are called ‘nanny dogs’ as they’re usually incredibly well-behaved around babies and little children when introduced correctly.
People often tend to consider staffies as aggressive dogs, but that’s usually far away from reality. When trained and treated correctly, staffies are incredibly loving, friendly and adorable.
Staffordshire bull terriers make excellent companion dogs, and that they considerably deserve their no 1 spot!

2) Cockapoo
Cockapoos are a crossbreed between an English cocker spaniel and a poodle.
They are usually small or medium-sized and have a tendency to be low-shedding with curly fur thanks to their poodle heritage.
Cockapoos are fashionable children thanks to their teddy-like appearance and friendly, loving temperaments.
They are easy to coachwanting to learn and highly loving.

3) Labrador retriever
This is the dog breed that I assumed would be no 1, but they still sit with a really respectable Number 3 position.
Labradors make wonderful family pets thanks to their chilled, loving natures.
They have flat coats and are most frequently black, chocolate or yellow in colour.
They are loved worldwide, and really popular in Britain, Canada and therefore us.

4) springer
Springer spaniels are almost like cocker spaniels as they’re also gundogs with many of equivalent personalities.
They are often employed by hunters to retrieve prey once it’s been shot.
Springer spaniels are often larger than cocker spaniels. they’re quick to find out and luxuriate in being both mentally and physically challenged.
They can be over-excitable and need good training for them to be well-behaved and calm within the house

5) English cocker spaniel
Cocker spaniels are a breed of gundog, most easily recognised by their long droopy ears.
They are lively and friendly, and ideal family dogs although they are doing need many exercises.
Cocker spaniels are loyal, friendly dogs who thrive within the company of individuals and other dogs.
There are two differing types – working cockers and show cockers.
The most famous English cocker spaniel is Lady from the Disney movie Lady and therefore the Tramp.

6) Boxer
Boxers are medium-large dogs with flat coats and flat faces.
They have strong jaws that are perfectly fitted to holding on to prey, which matches back to their origins of being hunting dogs.
Boxes are very muscular dogs who are often extremely strong on the lead.
Their commonest colours are fawn and brindle, although you’ll get other colours too like white.
